In conjunction with the CCG data protection advisor we have been reviewing our Data protection systems. We have been reminded that we need to gain patient consent to discuss with a third party or next of kin any of the following information:- confirming appointments that are already booked, discussing medication queries with dispensary, reception or a clinician, discussing any personal medical history. If you would like your next of kin to have authority to discuss this you need to let the surgery know.
If your child is aged 16yrs to 18yrs, we will need their permission to share information with parents.
